FAQ'S
We understand that making decisions about your pet’s care can bring many questions. To help you feel confident and informed, we’ve gathered answers to the most common concerns our clients have.
How it works
I created this service to give families the gift of saying goodbye to their beloved pets in the gentlest way possible, at home. In-home euthanasia allows your pet to remain where they feel safest, surrounded by familiar smells, favourite places, and the people they love most. Without the stress of travel or the unease of a clinic visit, their final moments can be filled with peace, dignity, and love.
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult decisions any family will face. My role is to make this final act of love as peaceful, dignified, and stress-free as possible, for both you and your companion.
You can reach me directly by phone or email to talk through your pet’s needs and ask any questions. I’ll guide you through the process and help you decide whether in-home euthanasia is the right choice for your family.
Together, we’ll find a convenient time for the home visit. I will explain what to expect beforehand and address any concerns, so you feel informed and prepared.
On the day, your pet can remain wherever they feel most comfortable. Whether that’s curled up on the sofa, in their bed, or outside in the garden. There is never any rush. You and your family will have as much private time as you need.
First, your pet receives a calming sedation injection, helping them relax completely and remain free from fear or discomfort. While the sedation takes effect, you have private time to sit with your pet, say your goodbyes, and share those final moments together. If you prefer, I can step out to give you privacy, or stay with you for support whatever feels right for you.
Once your pet is peacefully resting, I gently place a small intravenous catheter to give the final injection an overdose of anaesthetic. which allows them to drift into a deep, pain-free sleep. Their breathing and heartbeat gradually slow and then stop. Occasionally a few deep breaths, small movements or urine release may occur; these are natural signs of the body letting go. Throughout the process, your pet remains completely unaware and at peace.
This usually takes just a few minutes. When I’m sure your pet has passed, I’ll step out again to give you time and space for your final goodbyes.
If you wish, I can assist with aftercare arrangements such as cremation or burial, and guide you in choosing what feels right for your family. You will always have the time and space you need to say goodbye.
